The Scuba Team was set up during our 1999 - 2000 training year to provide senior cadets with an optional activity that provided a meaningful, interesting real world experience they could use outside of cadets while also serving to maintain senior cadet interest in the cadet program by providing them with a challenging activity that builds self discipline and teamwork.

To be eligible to participate in Scuba Training a cadet must meet the following criteria:

Cadets must attend ALL components of the Scuba Training Course:

* Classroom Training and Testing

* Pool Confined Dive Training and Testing

*Open Water Dive Testing (2 Days)

Cadets participating in training will receive their course for free, paid for by the corps.  There are only FIVE positions annually available to cadets on the Open Water Dive Course.  They are required to purchase the following items:  Dive mask and snorkel, Dive Boots (Recommended), Fins, Weight Belt with 10 lbs weight.  Diving is an expensive sport and equipment will normally cost around $200 - $250.00 or more depending on the quality purchased.

Following certification scuba adventures are organized for our cadets by the scuba coordinator.  Cadets are required to pay for equipment rentals and air and the corps picks up transportation costs and overnight campsite costs.  Food will also be funded by the corps under normal circumstances.
